Public Artists bring unique visions to a city that reflect, engage and challenge the image of its surroundings and its people. The City of North Vancouver's revitalized City Hall includes a number of new public art works each with its own special story.  Pictured above is the artwork entitled 35 Rings by Antonio Millares III and Jeremy Crowle. Flanking the main atrium stairs, the work reflects the history of the City of North Vancouver in a timeline of metaphorical tree rings.

Located at the entrance to Lynnmouth Park and connected to the Spirit Trail, North Vancouver's newly re-opened Mountain Equipment Co-op unveiled a beautiful work of public art entitled Swale in a public ceremony this month. MEC partnered with the City of North Vancouver to commission artists Veronica and Edwin Dam de Nogales, the same artists that created The Long Ascent, the horse art work located in Victoria Park on Lonsdale Avenue.

North Shore Culture Days is part of a national movement to raise the awareness, accessibility and participation of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. Arts and cultural organizations, libraries, community centres, artists, schools and creative sector businesses are invited to participate in a free North Shore Culture Days promotional campaign that will include a special North Shore Culture Days Map & Guide to be included in the September 28th issue of the North Shore News.
