    MAX is an acronym for Metro Arts Xperience. MAXguide is Metro Vancouver’s new online arts and culture guide that provides free listings of arts and culture events for arts organizations, individuals and selected arts and culture businesses. North Shore arts, culture and heritage groups that currently post events to the Arts Office on! arts calendar, can now broaden their reach and attract new audiences by posting to the MAXguide.

    June 2011 - The Arts Office promotional card contains on! event calendar info, as well as information on Arts Office programs and services. Look for this colourful card at libraries, community centres and creative spaces in your north shore neighborhood. The mosaic image in the top left corner is a QR code (Quick Response). Mobile phone users can download the free app that will allow them to scan the code which will link them to the Arts Office website, the on! arts calendar and a few more spiffy images!

    June 2011 - At its Creative City Summit in London, Ontario in May, the Creative City Network of Canada elected North Vancouver Arts Office Director, Ian Forsyth to be President of its national Board of Directors. The Creative City Network of Canada/Réseau des villes créatives du Canada is a national nonprofit organization that operates as a knowledge sharing, research, public education, and professional development resource in the field of municipal cultural policy, planning and practice.

    May 24, 2011 - The Arts Office hosted a special Grants Presentation Ceremony at the Lynn Valley District Library Community Space. Over 60 members from the North Shore arts, culture and heritage community gathered to receive grants cheque presented by special guests, City of North Vancouver Mayor Darrell Mussatto and District of North Vancouver Acting Mayor Mike Little.

    March 2011 - Last year's Lonsdale Street Banners are this year's fashion statement! Artist Duane Murrin was commissioned through the City of North Vancouver's Public Art Program to design three sets of street banners. Inspired by west coast nature imagery, these colourful banners lit up Lonsdale Avenue for well over a year. Once removed, and after a good washing, the banners were recycled and transformed into beautiful tote bags.

    March 2011 - The City of North Vancouver’s Public Art Program is thrilled to announce that over 30 new books and dvd's on a wide range of subjects relating to public art have been added to the City of North Vancouver Public Library's collection. The North Vancouver Public Art Advisory Committee sourced the materials and gave them to the library enabling the public to access more information about public art and artists worldwide.
