  • Margo Gram will be taking her final curtain call when she retires later this month after 25 years with the North Vancouver Rec Commission. For the past 14 years, Margo has been the Cultural Services Coordinator at Centennial Theatre, a position that has allowed her to work with many wonderful local, national and international artists, not to mention the 'on-the-job' challenges that have included everything from transforming the theatre into a graveyard for Halloween to wrangling sheep actors in the lobby!

  • By day, this quartet of public servants deals with civic matters big and small. But after hours, out come the guitars, keyboards and drums and these Artists Among Us get down to a very different kind of business! It all began a few years ago when North Vancouver City and District staffers Don Sigston, John Haythorne, Larry Orr and Richard White discovered a common interest in rock and roll and the blues. • The North Shore Culture Days weekend will take place September 28, 29 and 30, 2012. Think of it as a giant 'culture crawl' that will include a wide and wonderful range of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind-the-scenes,” to discover the world of artists, musicians, dancers, historians, authors, curators, and other creative people right here on Vancouver's North Shore.
