FYI: DRAFT Culture Plan - Community Outreach

Culture Plan 2013-2023: Creative Spirit North Vancouver is the working title for a new Cultural Plan that will inform and guide the delivery of arts and cultural services for North Vancouver over the next 10+ years. The Arts Office has invited the public, members of the arts and cultural community and creative industries to an Info~Input Session to learn more and provide input on the draft Cultural Plan.

While there will be an opportunity for Mayor and Council to review the draft Plan before it is finalized, you are welcome to join in the community conversation.

EVENT: Cultural Plan 2013-2023: Creative Spirit North Vancouver Info~Input Session

TIME:   4:00-6:00pm

LOCATION: Lynn Valley Library Community Room, 1277 Lynn Valley Rd., North Vancouver

RSVP by Feb. 27th to [email protected]

The Culture Plan 2013-2023: Creative Spirit North Vancouver is named in reference to the North Shore Spirit Trail, the multi-use greenbelt developed through collaboration by the City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver, District of West Vancouver, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, and Squamish Nation to extend across the North Shore from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove. The Spirit Trail, as a site of various works of public art, has not only become an important cultural landmark of North Vancouver, but represents the core purpose of this strategy: to connect communities and establish a path of discovery, learning, and enjoyment that will nurture the creative spirit of all North Vancouver residents.

While still a work in progress, the draft Plan includes a renewed vision and focuses on a number of strategic opportunities that capitalize on North Vancouver's unique geography, distinctive identity, vibrant neighbourhoods, burgeoning creative sector and community-based arts and cultural ecology.

Please join the conversation, share ideas, and provide input to the draft Plan. This input will be incorporated into the Plan in preparation for presentation to City and District Councils later this year.
