FANS Annual Tribute to the Arts - You're Invited!

Canadian novelist, visual artist and designer Douglas Coupland will accept the 2012 Distinguished Artist Award at this year’s FANS Tribute to the Arts event taking place at the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art in North Vancouver on Thursday, October 25, 2012. Mr. Coupland joins an illustrious list of past FANS Distinguished Artist Award recipients including Nicola Cavendish, Jay Brazeau and Bryan Adams. Established in 1995, the purpose of FANS (the Fund for the Arts on the North Shore) is to bring awareness to the wealth of artistic talent that exists on the North Shore.

North Shore musician Adam Woodall and visual artist Anne Gudrun will receive the Don S. Williams Grant in recognition of their artistic accomplishments This cash grant is intended to assist local artists with their continuing artistic endeavours and career development.

The FANS Tribute to the Arts event is open to the public. Guests will enjoy musical performances by Adam Woodall and Asha Diaz, one of the North Shore's rising young singing star. Asha began her musical career at the age of eight performing her own work in the PNE, and has since performed at the 2010 Olympics, and earlier this year she won the ‘Variety’s Got Talent’ Award.
