NSCE On The Road Again!

The North Shore Celtic Ensemble will return to Scotland this summer to participate in the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, one of the world's largest and most prestigious youth festivals. But before they hit the road, North Shore audiences will get a chance to say 'bon voyage' at a FREE concert in Shipbuilders’ Square on June 22nd, 7-9pm where NSCE will launch their newest CD, Troubadours!

This will be the third time that NSCE has been accepted to participate in the Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF). In addition to the mainstage shows, musicians perform in the towns and villages in and around Aberdeen.

When groups from different countries share the stage things really get interesting. "Have you ever heard West Coast celtic music performed with fiddles and steel drums? Or with an African dance group?" Collaborations like this surprise everyone - even the musicians!

The Aberdeen Festival is an opportunity for each NSCE musician to live and experience  music-making in an intense and spontaneous way. Getting there is expensive and many families stretch themselves to make it happen. NSCE members also pitch in by busking at the Quay or performing at private parties to help raise funds.

Saturday June 22, 7-9pm (weather permitting!)
Shipbuilder's Square, Foot of Lonsdale

Come one, come all to meet and enjoy this exuberant and lively group of young musicians before they head off to Scotland. "Wonderful music, great musicianship and a rousing good time guaranteed... the North Shore Celtic Ensemble is a gem.”
