February 2, 2021 - Funding is available to support community projects that reflect the spirit, creativity and diversity of North Vancouver. On behalf of the City and District of North Vancouver, the Recreation & Culture Commission (NVRC) provides project grants to all kinds of arts activities, projects and events, community celebrations and festivals that animate, engage or celebrate the community.

The next Project Grants deadline is Monday March 2nd, 2015, and is intended to support events and activities that take place between July and December 2015.  Program guidelines, application forms and other materials are available online at:  http://www.artsoffice.ca/funding/project_grants.php

The NVRC invites grant applications in five categories, including: (1) small funding requests up to $2,500 from volunteer-managed community groups; as well as larger grants for: (2) arts projects or events; (3) community art projects; (4) community celebrations; and (5) signature events or festivals.  Projects that are collaborative, inter-disciplinary or cross-cultural in nature, or that work with targeted communities through creative engagement and/or support diverse and emerging creativities are encouraged.

Grant applications are invited from local non-profit societies, arts groups, recognized community service agencies, and – on a case by case basis – other eligible organizations in the community.  Anyone wishing to find out more about the grants programs, check  the eligibility of their project, or decide whether or not to submit an application is invited to review the 2015 Project Grant Guidelines online or contact NVRC Cultural Services.

North Vancouver Recreation & Culture’s role, on behalf of the City and District of North Vancouver, includes the provision of recreation and arts programs; a strong public art program; operation of Centennial Theatre; and the delivery of a wide range of programs and services that foster health and creativity for individuals, families and communities.
