On Monday February 28, 2011, District of North Vancouver Council presented the 2011 Public Art Awards, recognizing local developers, artists and community groups for their commitment to the cultural spirit of North Vancouver.

This was the second time that the District has presented these awards, the first presentation occurring in February of 2008. Since that time there have been seven new additions to the District of North Vancouver’s public art inventory. The artworks can be found in various communities within the District including, Lynn Valley, Upper Lonsdale, Seymour River, Maplewood, Lynnmour and Mt Seymour. Each piece adds distinction and character to the neighbourhood where it resides and is deserving of special recognition.

Each of the following artworks were recognized:

  • Rain Catcher
  • First Light
  • Eventually #1 #2 #3
  • Trees & Trail Marker
  • Our Canyon Friends
  • Nest
