The Arts Office is dedicated to preserving and expanding the City and District of North Vancouver’s celebrated public art collection. The Public Art Program is administered and delivered through three major program streams; Civic Public Art, Community Public Art and Developer Public Art. For each of these program areas, municipally endorsed polices and procedures are in place to guide the public art selection process from site identification and artist selection, through to artwork installation and ongoing maintenance.

    Community Public Art (CPA) emphasizes the potential participation of citizens in the creation of a publicly accessible artwork and encourages residents and artists to work collaboratively. The Arts Office administers two Community Public Art Programs for the City of North Vancouver and the District of North Vancouver respectively.

    A primary objective of the Developer Public Art Program is to provide a mechanism through which private developments can include public art as a sanctioned amenity contribution during the rezoning process.
